Here we go again!

So now that the pre season polls are out along with the big ten pre season picks let's get the chat going!  It's been far too long for this season to get here and now I'm so excited to start it!

MSU has been picked #2 in the AP top 25 behind run away #1 KU.  At first this bothered be since we beat them in both games last season, but once I had chance to ponder this I do have to agree.  KU is LOADED this year with virtually thier entire team back and one of the best incoming classes this year.

For us I have to say we have one of the best, if not the best, back court in the country.  I see the key to our season coming down to three key points.

1:  how long will it take for Nix and Sherman to contribute?
2:  Will Morgan finally play the way he is expected to consistently?
3:  Will Allen and Summers be a consistent threat this year?

Lucas and Lucious will have no problems running the point this year.  I was very suprised with how well Lucious did this past season running the point and I would not be suprised to see Izzo find a way to work him into the line up quite a bit more this year.  Roe and Green are developing very well with Roe being back to full health and Green suprising just about everyone with his play in the tourney.  They are both not the "true center" and Green lacks the height and Roe lacks the big body to take up space, but they do make up for it with pure work ethic.

MSU has been picked to win the Big Ten this year with Lucas Repeating as Big Ten POY.

Anyway what are all your thoughts on this upcoming season?

GO GREEN!

Here we go again!

There is no doubt we are in good shape to make it back to the big game and most likely be a number 1 seed trying to fight off #2 seeds like the Spartans of last year. I like everything about this team. I'm not worried about the lack of a "true center." Like you said, Green and Roe have the will to win. I think this will be a season to remember. More so than last year.

GO SPARTANS!!!
