I doubt Tom Izzo ever looks at these things online, but I think it is important still to use every venue we Spartan fans can to show our appreciation for our coach, Coach Tom Izzo. Dear Coach Izzo, You are not just the Michigan State Spartans' basketball coach you are ours, the fans, coach too. Your leadership is the kind of leadership we look up to. You are not just a master leader of a college basketball team, but a leader and example of a philosophy that no matter who you are as long as you work hard and do your best you can succeed. The numerous walk-ons that have come through your program and succeeded are just a small handful of examples. You also are an example of how to be a part in your community. For example, there was a boy here in the Lansing area with a terminal brain tumor that came to a team practice and you met him. You treated and made him feel just as important as if he were the number one recruit in the nation. Although it may seem like something little and insignificant since that tumor claimed the boy's life just this last December, it is those kinds of things that give us fans a reason to love and appreciate you. You see it is not just about basketball, but about the affect you have on this community. Coach Izzo, we strongly implore you to remain the coach of the Michigan State Spartan basketball team and a leading example in this community. We love you, Coach. Just saw the CBS poll on the home page about who people are picking to win the whole shootin' match and guess where our boys in green are ranked? That's correct if you guessed dead LAST.
